This is Contemporary Art
An artwork commissioned is a unique piece of work, hand made, involving many hours of work. It is yours to keep forever and if well cared for, for you to pass onto future generations. It is a very special thing to have between a parent and child, adult and parent, or even between a couple.
How It Works (How to Commission a Portrait)
A time is arranged for me to come to your house and I take photographs from which I work from. This usually takes between 1 and 2 hours depending on the number of children or subjects there are. This is included in the price for clients living in the Melbourne metropolitan area.
On the day, we agree on an image, I then go back to my studio and paint. The whole process can take 4 to 6 weeks depending on how many orders I have. If you live in Melbourne I would normally deliver the finished portraits to you (also included in the price) and you would pay the balance owing on delivery.
A 40% deposit is required before work can commence. This can be paid via internet money transfer. When you contact me to discuss your needs or make a booking I will give you my banking details. (Other payment types are OK too, just ask when you contact me)
For country Victoria (this may involve a petrol allowance), interstate or overseas customers I can also travel to you, please contact me for a quote. I can also work from your photographs.

Any size is possible, but the standard dimensions are as follows:
38h x 28w cm
57h x 38w cm
76h x 57w cm
150h x 100w cm
These are the unframed sizes. I can organise framing if you require it, for a plain wood or white box frame add $350.00 to each 76 x 57 cm portrait, other sizes will require a quote.

Bookings
If you wish to commission me for a portrait please contact me, and arrange payment of the deposit, the sooner you do this and make a time the sooner you will have your portraits. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks especially if it is needed by a specific date, just to be sure you have it in time.

For People Who Live Outside of Melbourne
I can also work from your photographs, if you have a special photo you would like painted. After the portrait is finished I would email you a high quality image for your approval. You would then pay me and I would then send you the portrait. All works can be insured whilst being delivered, prices for delivery and insurance will depend on size. For example a 76 x 57 cm portrait posted (in a tube 90 x 850 mm, or flat packaged between sheets of masonite) within Australia via Australia Post Registered Mail, fully insured, will be approx. $35.00. If you require a framed portrait this cost will change, I would engage a specialist courier for delivery to ensure your work of art arrives in perfect condition. The cost of this will depend where the package is sent.

Guarantee
I do my utmost to ensure you are happy with your portraits and I have never had a portrait returned.
I can guarantee, that if you are not happy and have paid in full, I will refund you 75% of the portrait cost. If I do sell the portrait upon its return, I will forward the remaining 25% cost of that portrait to you.
